feels nice in the hand
Color: UV301-365nmVerified Purchase
True 365nm flashlight with a powerful beam and a filter that eliminates most extraneous visible light (the visible light you see when you shine it on a surface is fluorescence). Construction quality seems high; feels nice in the hand. Works very well for resin curing — and it’s fun to shine it around a dark room to see what glows (don’t shine it in your eyes for even a short time, though — remember, it is an invisible but very powerful beam. High intensity UV light is not friendly to your retina!)

Best AA battery UV flashlight out there.
Color: UV301-365nmVerified Purchase
I’m surprised that Fenix or Olight or some of the other big names are not offering UV flashlights yet. This is a big name quality flashlight. It has the features that I like; hardened glass lens, heavy duty body and switch, anti roll, good waterproofing.
It comes well packaged with a battery, lanyard, strong clip and two spare o-rings.
The only downside is it is fairly long at 102mm. (I find myself hoping that Olight or Zebralight will make a smaller version of this).
We use these UV flashlights at night for nighttime disc golf. The UV quickly charges up our glow discs and glow tape.
Update: 1/29/19
Loon Outdoors makes a much smaller AAA battery version of this that measures a mere 2-7/8″. Loon Outdoors makes these for curing their fly fishing glues. If smaller is better, check it out.

Probably the best 1xAA powered UV flashlight
Color: UV301-365nmVerified Purchase
High-output 365nm UV flashlight built into a well-fabricated clone of the classic Fenix-style “AA” host. This is a rebadge of the UV-AA01 light from Tank007 at half the price.
MUCH higher output than the $10 zoomies seen all over Amazon; approaching that of the Nichia-based lights from Convoy, Jaxman, Nitrcore, and Tank007 which require 18650 lithium-ion cells.Oddly, the (poorly translated from Chinese) instruction sheet mentions the use of a lithium-ion cell – something directly contradicted by all of the other material concerning this light; so I wouldn’t even dare try.
Very good beam pattern. Includes a pre-installed ZWB2 filter (which is necessary because the UV emitter has too much visible light output without filtration).
This is probably one of the best AA-powered 365nm pocket lights out there right now.

A Skeptic Impressed!
Color: UV301-365nmVerified Purchase
I don’t give 5 stars easily. This little light is a powerful UV flashlight that emits very little visible light, but it’s impressive at making florescent things light up. I can’t speak to it’s power at curing UV glue, but it’s claim of emitting a good bunch of 365nm light seems spot on.

Nicely made flashlight
Color: UV301-365nmVerified Purchase
I own other 365nm UV lights, which makes a difference over 395 or 405. But the big advantage with this unit is the dichroic filter. That greatly increases the contrast of the fluoresced materials.
Nicely made flashlight.

Color: UV301-365nmVerified Purchase
This flashlight is awesome. I have multiple lights with LG 365nm LED from different manufacturers and this one is one of the best. It does have a filter in front and due to that the visible light is removed. The same LED in other lights without filter is already awesome but leaves still a little visible light. This one is perfect.

Great tool
Color: UV301-365nmVerified Purchase
The visible light is very low but it sure lights up anything that it finds. It kind of creeped out me wife when I showed her the area around our toilet with the light. I was actually fun to see her reaction. It will also come in handy if I need to trace the location of a leak in my AC system (UV dye was put into it).

For Science Demo

I use this for a science demo. It was important for the purposes of the demo to not also have a lot of visible light emission, and this was a good choice for a good price.

Color: UV301-365nmVerified Purchase
I purchased the 365nm version. Excellent build, optical filter, output level, ergonomics and packaging.
Practical uses withstanding, it was unexpected discovering all the hidden proof-marking in use. For example, intricate artwork found within visas, embedded stripes and hidden printing on currency, or proof-marks on credit cards. It can also be used to excite phosphorescent paint to ridiculously bright post-illumination levels.
Worth owning merely for its fun factor.

Great quality and very bright
Color: UV301-365nmVerified Purchase
This UV flashlight is very bright for its size. I’m impressed with the build quality too. It feels like a more expensive light than it is. I know it wasn’t cheap, but it’s still very nice for the price. I’ve had fun looking around at night for rocks and things that fluoresce 🙂 You can see how bright the fluorescence is in the attached photos.

The flashlight performs as described, with not a lot of visible light except when reacting to things. It’s far better than the cheaper versions that typically range closer to 400nm.

Color: UV301-365nmVerified Purchase
High UV output power (not 3W ) but a lot. I measured 250mW of true power at the 360nm. This about 10x of what the other UV lamps actually brought to the table.

I use it exclusively for looking at Iron Pyrite with calcite deposits. The florescent brilliant red really turns me on. I have tried a few cheaper flashlights that are suppose to do same job but this is the only one that works! Probably the filter that they use. really is excellent.

This is a neat little light.
Color: UV301-365nmVerified Purchase
This light is the real deal. It provides filtered 365 nm light in a small package. It only requires a AA battery too, so it is easy to start with this light as opposed to the superior Convoy because you do not need to buy lithium batteries and chargers. It isn’t as bright as the Convoy, but it also isn’t as heavy or large as the Convoy.

Higher Grade Performance with a tightly focused beam
Color: UV301-365nmVerified Purchase
UV output is tight, clear and filtered providing a focus stream of high energy photons in the desired spectrum for UV glues and other UV reactive coatings. More sophisticated components. Work with a rechargeable battery with no modifications. Overall the size is bigger than a penlight and about 1/2 to 1/3 the size of multi LED types. The intensity allows it to be used in normal room lighting conditions but produces a vivid reaction in darkened conditions. Cost more works better.

It is what it says. With a Li ion battery it’s very bright. The peak wavelength is indeed 365nm as measured with an Ocean Optics red tide UV spectrometer. You’ll see some interesting fluorescence of you some it on rocks.

WARNING: THIS IS NOT A TOY!
Color: UV301-365nmVerified Purchase
WARNING: THIS IS NOT A TOY! Keep ALL UV flashlights away from children because UV RADIATION CAN CAUSE BLINDNESS. A notice on the flashlight warns against shining the light into your eyes OR EVEN SHINING THE LIGHT ON YOUR SKIN. Powerful UV lights similar to this one are used for curing and drying inks, adhesives and coatings.
This is a review of the LIGHTFE ultraviolet flashlight model UV301A which outputs a wavelength of 365nm. (Do not confuse this with model UV301D which outputs a wavelength of 395nm and cost a few dollars less.)
As of the date I’m writing this review, I’ve noticed that FOR SEVERAL OF THE LIGHTFE FLASHLIGHTS, the product descriptions, technical specifications, questions and answers, and even THE REVIEWS HAVE BEEN CO-MINGLED.
Also, a single specification might show two different wavelengths and/or two different battery configurations or battery sizes. So, you can use the price to determine which model you are ordering. The higher priced models have a higher frequency (and therefore a shorter wavelength). 365nm (nano meters) is shorter than 395nm.
The UV301A is well designed. It comes in a box that includes one AA battery, two extra O-rings, a pocket clip, and lanyard. The operation of the tail-cap switch is click once for on, click once for off.
I attached the pocket clip to the flashlight but was unable to clip it to my shirt pocket because the clip presses extremely hard against the flashlight. However, the “pocket clip” will securely hold the flashlight to the your pants pocket.
I attached the lanyard and it works fine. However, attaching the lanyard was a challenge. If I had it to do over again, I would probably first feed some thread through the lanyard holes, and then use the thread to pull the lanyard through the holes.
The user manual says that the battery output is regulated to provide a constant brightness and that the batteries should last 2.5 hours. The battery may last 2.5 hours, but NOT with constant brightness (see my test data below). It’s drawing a lot of power from the single AA battery. To get 3 watts out of a 1.5 volt battery requires 2 amps! The trade-off is that it provides a lot of UV light output WHEN THE BATTERY IS NEW. This is a good trade-off because you get an extremely bright flashlight in a compact size.
I ran a test using ZTS battery tester that I got right here on Amazon. (Please see photo.) I started with a new battery. The tester showed the battery charge was 100%. Using a digital timer, I ran the flashlight for 5-minute intervals and then checked the battery after each interval. The tester showed that the battery ran down quickly. Here is the data from my test of the UV301A.

Time . . . Charge

10:00 60%
15:00 40%

70:00 40%
75:00 40%
80:00 20%
85:00 20%
90:00 20%
Of course, the amount of charge left in the battery is not as important as the amount of UV light emitted from the flashlight. At 90 minutes, the light was not nearly as bright as when the test started, but the amount of light was still useful.
To see a list of model numbers and associated wavelengths, scroll to the top, find “by LIGHTFE” on the upper left-hand side of the page, and then click on LIGHTFE. For more info, use your browser search function to find “PDF” on this Amazon webpage, and then click on “Specification Sheet”.

Comparison with the Jaxman U1 365nm UV Blacklight
Color: UV301-365nm
The output on the 3W 365nm UV Blacklight (Lightfe UV301-D) is comparable to the Jaxman U1 (365nm). The results are very similar, the only difference may be just a minor detail about focal points at a distance. These 365nm lights do not produce the same output of the 395nm lights: 365nm is much better in terms of purity of the light, and with the black filter lens, there is less purple/blue visible light which can obscure some details. This is a smaller/lighter unit than the Jaxman. The Jaxman uses a 18650 battery, while this one uses AA (which I have not tried, so those results may not be as good?). I’ve only used a 14500 800mAh 3.7V Li-ion battery, and with this battery, this light is nearly a drop-in replacement for the Jaxman U1. Also, this light has a clip, and the Jaxman U1 does not. I wish the clip was not as rigid/strong, but I guess it’s better than nothing. (If I was going to give this product a 4-star rating, it would be due to the rigidness/strength of the clip.) If you’re trying to decide between this one and the Jaxman U1, consider battery type, and size/weight, since the light outputs are very similar.

Great AA EDC/occasional use durable UV flashlight
Color: UV301-365nmVerified Purchase
Quite impressed with the output of this little guy. How they managed 3W pre filter off a single AA, idk, but I’d recommend to anyone looking for a decent built quality UV EDC pocket flashlight.
Originally found it for someone else so he could have a decent UV glue curing lamp. He brought it to show me and I was so impressed I got one too. Sure beats the little multiLED cheapos that you can get for $10 and definitively outperforms the dinky single led jobbers they give you free along with buying UV dye or glue.

Gangbusters better performance than the cheapo 395 nm UV lights.
Color: UV301-365nmVerified Purchase
I have a multi-LED cheapo 395 nm UV light. This new 365 nm light is amazingly better. The cheapo 395 has an indigo spot that can, and does, wash out much of the UV fluorescence. The only one better than this is the Jaxman 18650, which I also have. This one puts out a decently focused beam that will fluoresce things up to about 50’ away in the dark. This Is Cool
Color: UV301-365nmVerified Purchase
I bought this to see if sunglasses have UV protection in the range of 365nm. Shining the light through sunglasses over a US $10.00 bill, the special markings on the bill did not show — completely dark. Without the sunglasses, the special markings on the bill glow when the UV light was shined on it. At least my sunglasses block 365nm. The light also comes in handy to find out how clean a stove top is. Most things that are white strongly glow, and if any grease splatters are on the stove, the light vividly points them out. I really have to clean my kitchen. You can also see if your carpets need vacuuming, as small dots light up on the carpet to show debris.
The flashlight feels like it’s made of high quality material, and it’s easy to use. I would definitely give this as a gift and recommend it to others.

Very high quality, barely visible.

For what it’s designed to do, this flashlight is perfect. I’d suggest using Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA batteries for this, as those batteries are designed for really high power output.
The wavelength plus the dark filter makes this flashlight scarily barely visible. So, I would echo the manufacturer’s warning and not apply the light to your eyeballs or skin.
